This post contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen the series for the final episode don’t read any further.
As I’ve considered what to say about Marvel’s Agent Carter, the only words that come to mind are kudos. Once again they’ve come up with a great concept. Initially I took an interest in the character of Peggy Carter after watching the first Captain America movie. Its great to see another well done female protagonist on TV. Seeing her in action as an Agent is fun especially since its not what people expect of a female character during that time period.
While the movies have given some insight into Agent Carter’s background, getting her own show to explore things is a good opportunity. That allows many more elements to be explored as well as taking a deeper look at ones that have already been introduced.
Every episode has left me wondering what the writers can come up with next. My favorite highlights:
- Peggy Carter’s interaction with Jarvis
- The introduction Carter’s nemesis Dottie Underwood
- Having to prove her skills as an Agent to her SSR colleagues
- Learning more about Howard Stark
The show’s initial run has expanded on various plot ideas and posed some interesting questions. While I’m looking forward to the return of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D this show has been a good way to start the year. After the episodes show so far for Agent Carter I’m looking forward to more.
